Our Board

 

Our Board Members are responsible for carrying out the vision and aims of the CSS. The time given by board members is given without remuneration – we thank them for the work they do.

Meet our current Board Members:

 

Chair

Caroline Barrow

Caroline became Chair of the CSS board in 2023, having previously been the Liaison Officer for the Upledger Institute UK of which she is Director. She brings her years of experience working with the Upledger community, links with Upledger Institute International and with other satellite leaders, and as a therapist. She started her CST journey in 1999 after practising as a shiatsu therapist for five years, integrating it with meridian work, visceral manipulation and her love of anatomy. She has a practice in Brighton and spends her time between CSS board meetings teaching CST courses, A&P courses and her two children.

  • TREASURER

    Sheila Hoy

    Sheila first trained as an Occupational Therapist, then as an Esthetician, going on to run a business in London specialising in remedial massage and reflexology. Shiela then moved to Oxfordshire where she renovated a derelict cottage and barn, and learned to repair drystone walls! In 2002, she read an article in a magazine on CST by John Page, enrolled on CST1 in January 2003, and was hooked! Sheila achieved her CST Diplomat in 2015, and also integrates Barral’s visceral manipulation techniques into her practice She runs a very busy clinic from her home in Epwell, and also holds a Study Group.

  • REGISTRAR & COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

    Marilyn Grindley

    Marilyn joined the CSS board as Registrar and Company Secretary in 2023. She has worked for Upledger Institute UK since 2018, where she is Office Manager, looking after the course and student admin.

    Prior to that, she worked in advertising and ran her own children’s clothing company.

    She lives near Lewes with her partner, three children and a lot of animals.

  • RESEARCH OFFICER

    Dave Mason

    Dave has been practising CranioSacral Therapy since 2016. He originally graduated in Radiological Health and Safety and worked in the Nuclear Industry, later specialising in safety culture improvement. Dave brings with him his experience of having worked on four different Boards, including the Rosehill Theatre in Cumbria.

As a Board we need to be able to respond to external changes and demands that impact our members and their working environment. If you would like to share your ideas about new ways in which we could be supporting our members, we would be pleased to hear from you.
